The Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB), together with the Institute for Pure & Applied Mathematics (IPAM) at UCLA, is thrilled to announce that the application process for the Graduate-Level Research in Industrial Projects for Students (GRIPS) is now open. This prestigious internship, aimed at master's and PhD students in the sciences and research sectors, is a prime opportunity to engage in meaningful, real-world industrial projects in the vibrant city of Berlin.
Program Overview:
GRIPS provides a rare opportunity for graduate students to delve into industrial research problems, fostering a bridge between academic study and practical application. Set in the dynamic environment of the Research Campus MODAL at ZIB, this program extends from June 24 to August 16, 2024, and invites students to collaborate on cross-cultural teams addressing challenging industry-sponsored projects.
Internship Highlights:
- Global Collaboration: Join forces with peers from the U.S. and Europe to solve complex research problems in diverse teams.
- Full Support: The program covers all travel and accommodation expenses, allowing students to focus entirely on their research.
- Varied Projects: This year features projects focusing on wind energy systems, optics simulations, and cryo-electron tomography, each offering unique challenges and learning opportunities.
Candidate Requirements:
We are seeking applications from master's and PhD students enrolled at European universities in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, or related fields. Applicants should exhibit a robust academic background, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for research. Detailed project requirements and preferences can be found on the application page.
Application Process Now Open:
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply immediately by submitting a motivation letter (indicating their project of interest), a concise resume or CV, and an academic transcript.
